MOLASSES GINGER SNAPS 
1 1/2 c. butter
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. Brer Rabbit green label molasses
2 eggs
4 1/8 c. flour
4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. ginger
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt

Melt shortening in a 3 or 4 quart saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat, let cool. Add sugar, molasses and eggs. Beat well. Sift together flour, soda, cloves, ginger, cinnamon and salt; add to first mixture. Mix well and chill. Form in 1 inch balls, roll in granulated sugar and place on greased cookie sheet 2 inches apart. Bake in moderate hot oven, 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
