HEARTY HAMBURGER SOUP 
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. chopped onion
1 c. sliced carrots
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
1 lb. hamburger
2 c. tomato juice
1 c. diced potatoes
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
4 c. milk
1/3 c. flour
3 tbsp. brown sugar

Melt butter in saucepan. Add onions, carrots and green pepper. Cook until tender. Add hamburger and cook until meat is crumbly. Stir in tomato juice, potatoes and seasonings. Cover and cook over low heat until vegetables are tender, about 20-25 minutes. Combine flour with 1 cup of milk. Stir into soup mixture. Add remaining milk and heat. Do not boil.
