HEARTY HAMBURGER NOODLE
CASSEROLE
 
16 oz. pkg. fine egg noodles
1 1/2 lbs. lean ground beef
1/2 c. chopped onion
10 3/4 oz. can condensed cream of mushroom soup
10 3/4 oz. can condensed cream of chicken soup
4 oz. can Green Giant Mushroom stems & pieces, undrained
12 oz. (3 c.) cubed Colby or cheddar cheese
3/4 c. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 c. chow mein noodles
1 c. cashew pieces or peanuts (opt.)

Cook noodles to desired doneness as directed on package; drain. Heat oven to 350 degrees.

In large skillet, brown ground beef and onion; drain. In large bowl, combine soups, mushrooms, cheese, milk, salt and pepper. Add meat and egg noodles; stir gently. Pour into 2 (2 quart) casseroles. Cover; bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Uncover; sprinkle with chow mein noodles and cashews. Continue baking 10 minutes. Serve immediately. 12 (1 1 3/ cup) servings.
