CHOCOLATE FUDGE 
3 rounded c. sugar
3 heaping tbsp. cocoa
3 tbsp. white Karo
Sm. can Pet milk plus enough sweet milk to make a full c. to rim of Pyrex measure
2 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla

In a heavy pot, mix the first 4 ingredients well. On hot stove, stir constantly until candy starts to boil. Turn on low heat and do not stir anymore. Wash spoon, take wet cloth and wipe crystals off inside pan. Put spoon back, no more stirring. Let candy cook about 8 minutes.

Start testing in cold cup of water until it forms soft ball. Remove from heat, drop in butter and vanilla. Let stand, no stirring, until lukewarm. Beat until it thickens and loses its gloss. Pour into 8 x 8 inch pan lined with wax paper. Mark in squares when cold. Nuts, marshmallows, etc. may be added before pouring the candy out.

Vanilla Fudge: Omit the cocoa. Peanut Butter: Use 3 tablespoons peanut butter instead of cocoa.
