HAMBURGER VEGETABLE SOUP 
1-1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 (10 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
1 c. tomato juice
1 c. chopped onion
6 c. water

In a large kettle, brown meat and onion; drain off grease and add tomatoes, juice, and water. Bring to a slow boil and add any or all of the following vegetables in quantity of your choice: chopped cabbage, diced potatoes, sliced carrots, green pepper, green or yellow beans, whole kernel corn.

For flavor, any or all of the following spices can be used: bay leaf, salt and pepper, if necessary. This recipe is flexible; makes large quantity and freezes well. Some canned vegetables are cooked. Elbow macaroni can be used in place of potatoes.
