BANANA NUT CAKE 
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. mashed bananas
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. sour milk
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. walnuts
3 eggs

Cream shortening. Add sugar and cream until well blended. Add eggs, one at a time and bananas. Beat 1 minute. Add vanilla to sour milk and add alternately to creamed mixture with dry ingredients. Fold in chopped walnuts. Pour into 2 well greased and floured 8 inch round layer pans. Bake 40 minutes at 350 degrees.

FROSTING:

1/2 stick butter
1 ripe banana (mashed)
1 box confectioners' sugar

Mix all 3 ingredients well. Frost cool cake.
