RICE PILAF 
2 c. rice, raw
1 onion, med. or large
1/2 lb. butter
1 med. can mushroom pieces
2 heaping tsp. whole oregano
3 cans beef consomme
2 cans water

Saute onions in butter, add mushrooms (liquid also) and oregano. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes or less. Put raw rice in large baking dish and add onion mixture, consomme and water. Cover and bake for 1 hour at 400 degrees. Serves about 12.
