OATMEAL PUDDING | |
2 c. old fashioned oatmeal 4 c. water 1/2 tsp. sugar Place water and oatmeal in large bowl, cover with cloth - put in a warm place for 24 hours or until it ferments. If you want to hasten fermentation, add a slice of sour rye bread. When oatmeal ferments, strain through cheesecloth or sieve. Put into pot, bring to rapid boil, reduce heat, continue to boil stirring constantly until thick and separate from side of pot. Stir in sugar. Pour into bowl rinsed in cold water. Serve with poppy seed milk. |
