CREAM CHEESE COOKIES 
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. softened butter
1 c. Bisquick baking mix
1/2 c. chopped walnuts (8 oz.)
1 pkg. soft cream cheese
1/4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tsp. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease square pan 8x8x2 inches. Beat brown sugar and butter until fluffy. Stir in Bisquick and walnuts until mixture is crumbly. Reserve 1 cup; press remainder in pan. Bake 12 minutes.

Mix cream cheese and sugar; beat in remaining ingredients until smooth. Spread cream cheese mixture over layer in pan; sprinkle with remaining crumbly mixture. Bake until center is firm, about 25 minutes. Cut into about 2 inch squares. Store cookies in refrigerator. Yields about 16 cookies.
