FRESH CHERRY PIE 
1 1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3 1/2 c. pitted sour cherries
3 drops almond flavoring
1 tsp. butter
Red food coloring, if desired

Heat oven to 425 degrees. Combine sugar, flour and cinnamon. Mix lightly with fruit and add almond flavoring and food coloring. Pour fruit in pie pan lined with pastry. Dot with butter. Cover with top crust and slit. Start at 425 degrees. Bake about 20 minutes. Then lower temperature to 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
