BUTTERMILK POUND CAKE 
1 c. Crisco shortening
3 c. sugar
3 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
6 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. almond or lemon extract

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cream shortening and sugar well. Mix dry ingredients. Beat all 6 eggs into shortening and sugar. Add dry ingredients. Add milk and flavorings. Bake in greased bundt or tube pan. Check with toothpick at 45 minutes. Bake additional 15 to 30 minutes until toothpick comes out clean. Delicious as is, but one may glaze, dust with powdered sugar or ice.
