SOFT PRETZELS 
1 pkg. dry yeast
1 1/3 c. warm water
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
3 1/2 to 4 c. flour
1 egg
1 tbsp. water
Coarse salt

Dissolve yeast in water. Stir in sugar, salt and flour gradually until a soft sticky dough forms. Knead 5 to 7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cut dough in half, then cut each half into 6 pieces. Roll out and form into pretzel shapes. Mix egg and water. Brush on pretzels. Sprinkle with salt. Bake 15 to 20 minutes at 425 degrees. Makes 12.

This is really similar to a recipe I used to have for soft pretzels. They turned out great and they were easy to roll out and shape. However, I'd recommend watching them closely when cooking. I cooked mine for 10 minutes at only 400°F and they were finished.

These turned out great. I brushed with butter when out of the oven and topped some with salt some with cin. and sugar the family loved them :)
