BEEF STROGANOFF | |
2 lbs. stew meat, small pieces 1 med. onion, diced 4 tbsp. butter 4 tbsp. flour 1 c. fresh sliced mushrooms 1/3 c. dairy sour cream 8 oz. wide egg noodles Dash of garlic salt, if you desire 1 1/2 c. condensed beef broth Cut stew meat pieces in half, saute meat and butter in a skillet until meat is browned. Push meat aside and add onion, cook slowly a few minutes. Stir in flour. Add beef broth. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Turn heat down; simmer and cover. Simmer 45 minutes. After simmering for 35 minutes start cooking the noodles in a separate pot, and add mushrooms to meat skillet and simmer until 45 minutes is up. Just before serving, add sour cream. Heat until hot. Mix noodles (drained) into meat mixture and serve. |
