PEAR CAKE 
4 c. fresh pears, chopped fine
2 c. sugar
1 c. chopped pecans
3 c. of plain flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. of butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine pears, sugar and nuts. Let stand. Add dry ingredients to pears, fold in well. Add butter, softened, eggs and vanilla. Mix well. Place in tube pan and bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
