PEAR-WALNUT COFFEE CAKE 
1/4 c. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 lg. pear, peeled, diced
Nut topping (recipe follows)
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. sour cream

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in vanilla, then egg until smooth. Mix flour, soda, baking powder and salt. Add to butter mixture alternately with sour cream, mixing just to blend after each addition. Fold in pears. Pour into greased 8 ounce pan. Sprinkle nut topping. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes.

NUT TOPPING:

Mix 1/2 cup packed brown sugar, 3/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon and 2 tablespoons soft butter until combined. Stir in 1/2 cup chopped walnuts.
