CANNED BEETS 
1 c. vinegar
2 c. sugar
2 c. water
spices as desired

You can put onions if you like.

Wash and cook whole beets until peeling will slide off easy. Let cool until you can handle them. Peel and cut in quarters or as you desire. Put in pot and pour above ingredients over them. Cook until done. Put in jar while hot and seal.
