FRUIT CAKE 
1 pkg. Duncan Hines yellow cake mix
1 egg
1/3 c. water
1/4 c. Crisco or Puritan oil
1 c. mixed candied fruit, cut up
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Empty 1/2 cake mix into bowl. Add egg, water and oil. Mix thoroughly by hand or low speed mixer. Blend in remaining cake mix. Stir in candied fruits and nuts. Spread in greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. While warm (not hot), about 20 minutes, spread with glaze. Cut after completely cooled.

GLAZE:

1 c. confectioners sugar
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. lemon juice

Blend until smooth. Makes 4 dozen bars.
