OUR FAVORITE CREAM PIE 
3 c. milk
3 eggs (yolks)
1 c. sugar
5 to 6 heaping tbsp. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
Pinch salt
1 tbsp. butter

Separate yolks and whites of eggs. Set aside. Thoroughly mix sugar and flour. Add cold milk. Then add slightly beaten egg yolks. Mix well. Cook and stir constantly until thickened. Add banana, coconut, pineapple or desired flavoring to this basic cream recipe. If chocolate is desired, add 2 1/2 tablespoons to dry mixture before milk is added. Use the egg whites to make meringue. Whip until stiff, add about 1/2 c. sugar. Spread on top of the filling that has been poured into a baked pie shell. Bake until desired brownness.
