FRENCH VANILLA FILLING 
5 tbsp. flour
5 tbsp. sugar
1 c. milk
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Dash salt

In saucepan stir flour and 5 tablespoons sugar. Add milk, stir until smooth. Cook over medium heat until thick. Remove from heat, cool. In bowl, cream butter, shortening, 1 cup sugar, vanilla and dash of salt. Add cooled mixture. Beat 5 minutes until fluffy.
