DANISH PUFF COFFEE CAKE 
1 c. flour
1/2 c. butter

Cut together and add:

2 tbsp. water

Round into ball and divide in two. Pat dough into two 12 inch x 3 inch strips. Place 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie pan.

1 c. water
1 stick butter

1 tsp. almond or vanilla flavoring

Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup flour immediately to keep from lumping. When smooth add 3 eggs, one at a time. Beat until smooth. Divide in half and spread evenly over above. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.

TOPPING:

1 1/2 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. milk

Melt butter, add flour, milk and vanilla. Cook 1 minute. Add 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar (little over rather than under). Spread on coffee cakes and sprinkle with nuts if desired.
