DANISH CAKE 
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
1 c. sugar
1 c. buttermilk
3/4 c. Wesson oil
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. self-rising flour
1 c. pecans, chopped
1 sm. pkg. dates, chopped

ICING:

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. stick butter
2 tsp. Karo syrup
1 can coconut
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix all ingredients. Bake in 13 1/2 x 9 1/2 inch pan 20 to 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

ICING: Bring to a boil, then pour over cake. Let cool to serve.
