DATE ROLL - UPS 
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
2 c. flour
1/2 lb. butter
1/4 tsp. salt

FILLING:

1 1/2 c. dates, chopped
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. water

Cream the cream cheese and butter until well blended. Add flour and salt; mix until smooth. Refrigerate overnight. Roll out dough 1/4-inch thick on powdered sugar covered board. Cut in strips 2 to 2 1/2 inches wide; cut into 3- inch long strips.

To make filling, combine dates, sugar and water; cook over medium heat until dates are soft. Cool a little. Add nuts; mix well. Place a little filling on dough. Roll up. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for about 15 minutes.
