FRED HARVEY COLE SLAW 
1 med. head cabbage
1 sm. onion
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tbsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. celery seed
1/2 c. vinegar
1/2 c. peanut oil

Shred cabbage and onion. Cover with 1/2 cup sugar. Bring to boil rest of ingredients. Pour over cabbage. Let stand 4 hours before serving. Good 5 days if kept in refrigerator.

I've made this recipe a hundred times. I mince the onion and I use regular vegetable oil.

It's fantastic and there are never leftovers at Pot-Lucks.
