HILLBILLY COLE SLAW 
3 c. chopped cabbage
3 carrots, grated
1 chopped green pepper
1 med. sliced onion
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. celery seed
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. oil
1/2 c. vinegar

Layer cabbage, carrots, green pepper and onion in tightly covered container. Sprinkle with salt and celery seed. Bring oil, vinegar and sugar to a boil over medium heat. Immediately pour over cabbage, etc. Do Not Stir. Cover and let stand in refrigerator for 24 hours. Toss and eat. Keeps several days in refrigerator.
