BANANA - STRAWBERRY CAKE 
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. mashed bananas
1/2 c. mashed strawberries
1/4 c. sweet milk
1/4 tsp. vinegar in milk
1 tsp. vanilla

First, put 1/4 teaspoon vinegar in milk and let stand. Cream sugar and shortening. Add well beaten eggs. Sift flour, baking powder, soda, and salt. Add alternately with milk and mashed bananas and strawberries. Add vanilla. Put in a greased 9 x 13 inch pan or 2 (8 inch) round pans and bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes.

Frosting: 1 egg white, 3/4 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons strawberry juice, 1 tablespoon mashed strawberry, 1/2 cup mashed banana, 3/4 teaspoon corn syrup, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Cook in a double boiler, the same as seven minute frosting.
