PEAR MINCEMEAT 
7 lb. pears, peeled and cored

Run through coarsest meat chopper.

1 lb. pkg. raisins
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. vinegar
3 lb. sugar
1 tsp. each cinnamon, all spice, nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves

Chop pears, add sugar, vinegar, etc.

Cook until thick and of the consistency of mincemeat. Nuts may be added if desired. Store in sterilized Mason Jars.

Makes 6 to 8 pints.

Note: I usually chop a fresh apple and some pecans into the mincemeat as I make my pies. 1 pint makes a plate pie.
