BANANA - DATE - NUT BREAD 
1 c. light brown sugar
2 eggs
2 lg. (or 3 med.) bananas
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. sour milk
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
1/2 c. dates, chopped
1/2 c. butter

Cream shortening with sugar until light; add eggs and beat thoroughly. Blend in mashed bananas. Reserve 1/4 cup flour and sift remaining flour with salt, baking powder and soda; add alternately with sour milk to banana mixture. Fold in nuts and dates which have been dredged in reserved flour. Pour into well greased and floured loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 60 to 65 minutes.
