OKRA FINGERS 
20 sm. fresh okra pods
1 c. buttermilk
3/4 c. flour
1/4 c. cornmeal
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
Pepper and red pepper to taste

Wash and trim stems in okra. Drain and place in shallow pan. Pour buttermilk over okra. Set aside. Combine next 5 ingredients, mixing well. Remove each okra pod from buttermilk and carefully roll in cornmeal mixture. Drop in deep hot oil (375 degree) 3 to 5 minutes until done, turning once. Drain on paper towels.
