PEPPER STEAK 
1 lb. beef sirloin or round steak
2 tbsp. shortening
1/2 c. soy sauce
1 1/2 c. water
2 med. onions, cut in strips
2 bell peppers, cut in strips
2 tbsp. cornstarch

Cut beef up in cubes or strips and brown in shortening about 10 minutes or until tender. Add soy sauce and simmer 10 minutes, add onions and simmer for 5 minutes. Add bell pepper and cook 5 minutes or until tender. Thicken with cornstarch. Serve over steamed rice. If desired fresh mushrooms or bean sprouts may be added.
