1 stick butter
1 box butter cake mix
1 egg
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 box confectioners' sugar
1 c. pecans (optional)

Combine first 3 ingredients and spread in rectangular baking pan (do not spread onto sides of pan). Combine all other ingredients and pour over cake mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Cool and serve in squares.
