CHOCOLATE SYRUP CAKE 
1 stick butter
1 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 c. flour
Pinch of salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 (16 oz.) can chocolate syrup
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each. Sift together flour, salt and baking powder. Add alternately to the other mixture with the chocolate syrup and vanilla. Bake in a greased and floured square pan 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

ICING:

1 stick butter
1 c. sugar
1/3 c. canned milk

Bring to a boil and boil 1 minute. Add 1/2 cup chocolate chips and 1 tsp. vanilla. Stir until thick. Put on hot cake.
