GRANDMA'S APPLE CRUMB PIE
1 unbaked pie shell
3-4 large apples
1/2 c. sugar (filling)
2 tbsp. flour (filling)
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 c. sugar (topping)
1/2 c. flour (topping)
1 stick butter (topping)

Pare, core and quarter apples; halve each quarter. Place in large bowl. Combine 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons flour and 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg in a cup. Sprinkle this mixture over apples. Toss well to coat. Spoon into pastry shell and then drizzle with lemon juice.

For topping, combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup flour. Cut in butter and sprinkle all this over apples. This makes a sweet crunchy topping on the pie. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour.
