BARRY'S HOT DOG SAUCE | |
1 lb. lean ground beef (93% lean beef is best) 1 medium onion, chopped 1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes 3/4 tsp. oregano 3 tbsp. chili powder 3/4 tsp. ground cumin 1/4 tsp. salt (optional) 1 1/2 cups water Brown meat (breaking it apart) and onion until onion is tender. Drain and add the red pepper flakes and oregano; then run through a food processor for a finer texture. Transfer to a saucepan and add the other spices and water. Simmer for an hour, stirring occasionally. Can be frozen. Serve as a topping for hot dogs in buns. Submitted by: Barry S. |
