GINGER COOKIES 
1 c. white sugar
3/4 c. bacon fat
1 egg
4 tbsp. molasses
2 tbsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. flour

Cream sugar and bacon fat. Add egg and molasses. Mix well and add the dry ingredients. Mix and form into small balls and roll in white sugar. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes. Double the ingredients for a large batch. These cookies were the favorite cookie of many, especially Mary's grandchildren.
