2/3 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs (separate use whites beaten put in last)
2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. baking soda melted in 2 or 3 tbsp. hot water
1 lb. raisins
3 c. pecans, broken

Cream butter and brown sugar. Add beaten egg yolks. Then flour and spices combined alternately with soda and water. Add raisins and pecans. Fold in beaten egg whites. Drop by teaspoons on greased baking sheet and bake in modern oven about 300 or 350 degrees until golden brown.
