STEAK & ONION PIE 
1 c. onions
1/4 c. Crisco
1 lb. round steak, cut in small pieces
1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. paprika
Dash ginger
Dash allspice
2 c. raw potatoes, diced
2 1/2 c. boiling water

Cook onions slowly in melted Crisco until yellow. (Remove onions.) Roll meat in mixture of flour, seasonings and spices. Brown meat in Crisco. Add boiling water, cover and simmer until meat is tender, about 1 hour. Add potatoes and cook 10 minutes longer. Pour meat mixture into 8 inch greased casserole. Lay onions on top. Fit pastry dough on top and seal edges of pie. Bake at 450 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.

Pastry can be made with Bisquick biscuit mix. Roll dough into a circle about 1/4 inch thick. Put on top, seal and prick with a fork to let steam escape (or can use pie shell dough).
