SALTY BREADSTICKS 
1/4 c. butter
1 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2/3 c. milk
Coarse salt

Heat oven to 450 degrees. Melt butter in square pan, 9 x 9 x 2 inches in oven. Remove as soon as butter melts. In bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking powder and 1 teaspoon salt. Add milk. Mix with fork (about 30 strokes) until dough clings together. Turn out onto floured board. Knead lightly, adding flour as needed. Roll out 1/2 inch thick into 8 inch square. With floured knife, cut in half. Cut each half crosswise into 9 sticks. Dip in butter. Place in 2 rows in pan. Sprinkle with coarse salt. Bake 15 to 20 minutes. Serve hot. Makes 18 sticks.

NOTE: Since I have a hot oven, I bake at 425 degrees.
