SALTY OATMEAL COOKIES | |
1 c. sugar 1 c. shortening 1 egg 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 1/2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. baking powder 3 c. oatmeal Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes or less. Roll very thin. I put some dough on a sheet of wax paper, folded in thirds width-wise. Put dough in center and fold edges over. Roll thin and put in refrigerator or freezer. It doesn't take long to stiffen and be cold enough to handle. Open paper and cut rolled dough into rectangles or squares. Lay cut dough on greased cookie sheet and gently remove paper. Sprinkle with salt. Remove from tin at once to cool. Sound fussy? These are worth it. |
