HAM BALLS | |
2 1/2 lb. ground ham 1 1/4 c. quick old fashion oats 1 c. milk 3 eggs, slightly beaten SAUCE: 1 c. plus 2 tbsp. light brown sugar, firmly packed 3 tbsp. cornstarch 1 1/2 tbsp. prepared mustard 1/2 tsp. ground cloves (optional) 1 3/4 c. pineapple juice 1/2 c. light corn syrup 3 tbsp. cider vinegar Lightly grease large baking dish and set aside. In large bowl, combine ham, oats, milk and eggs. Shape into balls. Makes 40-45 balls. Place in baking dish. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. FOR SAUCE: Combine brown sugar, cornstarch, mustard and cloves in large saucepan. Add pineapple juice, corn syrup and vinegar. Stir over medium high heat until combined well. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and simmer 3 minutes. Pour sauce over ham balls. Bake 1 hour. |
