GERMAN STYLE GREEN BEANS 
6-8 slices bacon
3 tbsp. bacon drippings
1 (9 oz.) pkg. frozen green beans
1 sm. onion, thinly sliced
3 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. flour
1/4 c. cider vinegar
1/4 c. water
Salt and pepper

Cut bacon strips into 6 pieces. In large skillet fry bacon until crisp; reserve 3 tablespoons drippings. Remove bacon; set aside.

In reserved drippings, over medium high heat, fry beans and onions, stirring constantly, until vegetables are hot and tender crisp. Reduce heat; stir in sugar and flour until blended. Stir in vinegar and water. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbling. Add bacon; seasoned to taste with salt and pepper.

Makes 4-6 servings.
