WILD RICE DRESSING D'MIRIAM | |
1 (4 oz.) pkg. wild rice (pure) 1 c. long grain white rice 1 lg. white or yellow onion 1/4 med. bell pepper 1 med. clove garlic 6 to 7 slices bacon Salt & red pepper to taste Boil wild rice in 1 1/2 quart lightly salted water. Bring water to boil, reduce heat and cook for about 45 minutes or until grains are puffy white. Drain. Cook white rice according to directions. Chop finely, onion, bell pepper and garlic. Saute until onion becomes transparent. Again lower heat. Add cooked wild rice. Blend lightly. Add cooked white rice. Blend all ingredients well. Add salt and pepper. Remove from heat and allow to cool uncovered if not served immediately. |
