FRUIT CAKE COOKIES 
1 c. butter
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. sour milk or water (I use milk)
3 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. broken pecans
2 c. candied fruit
2 c. cut-up dates

Mix butter, brown sugar, and eggs thoroughly. Stir in sour milk or water. Sift together flour, soda, and salt; stir into butter mixture. Mix in pecans, fruit, and dates. Chill.

Drop 1 rounded teaspoons about 2 inches apart on lightly greased sheet. Bake until set, when touched lightly almost no imprint remains. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes.
