SKILLET SIMMERED CHICKEN | |
3 tbsp. oil 3 lb. fryer chicken, cut up 1/2 c. onion 1 can chicken gravy 1/8 tsp. red pepper 1 med. red or green pepper, cut in 1-inch strips 1/2 c. sour cream In skillet, cook chicken. Add onions, cook 10 minutes or until chicken is well browned. Add gravy and red pepper. Reduce heat, simmer 20 minutes. Add pepper strips, cook uncovered 10 minutes until chicken and pepper are tender. Remove chicken and pepper to serving platter. Stir sour cream into skillet, heat, do not boil. Stir constantly, spoon gravy over chicken. |
