1 German chocolate cake mix 1/3 c. evaporated milk 3/4 c. melted butter 1 lg. pkg. caramels 1/3 c. evaporated milk 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips 1/2 c. slivered almonds, optional Mix cake mix and 1/3 cup evaporated milk and butter. Pour half into greased and floured 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake 7 minutes. Melt together caramels and evaporated milk. Pour over baked batter. Top with chocolate chips and almonds. Then pour remaining batter on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Serves 8-10. |
