BATTER ROLLS 
1 c. milk
1/2 c. shortening
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tbsp. yeast
2 eggs, beaten
3 1/2 c. flour

Scald milk, add shortening, sugar and salt. Cool to lukewarm. Add yeast and eggs; beat in flour. Cover and let rise until double in bulk. Stir down and spoon into greased muffin tins. Let rise again until double. Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Yield 12 large rolls.
