BATTER ROLLS 
1 c. warm water
1 pkg. yeast
2 tbsp. sugar
1 egg
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. soft butter

Measure water, sprinkle in yeast, stir until dissolved. Stir in sugar, 1/2 flour and salt. Beat until smooth. Add egg and butter, beat, add remaining flour. Beat until smooth. Scrape down sides of bowl, cover and let rise until double in bulk about 30 minutes. Stir down, spoon into 12 large well greased muffin pans (1/2 full). Let raise 20 to 30 minutes. Bake at 400 degrees about 15 minutes.
