Jello Shots are amazing esspecially with high proof liquor in them. Be careful of the how much everclear you put into them but everclear is great. Oh and to answer the one comment Everclear is a rice liquor that has a 190 proof rating so be careful. I was a marine and drank it all the time. Its a great alcohol, just be careful.

When we make our jello (shots) we do not use the little individual cups. We pour our jello mixture into a cake pan and cut them into little squares. They are so much easier to enjoy and we call them jello jigglers. Plus you don't have to run and buy little plastic cups which are not exactly environmentally smart.

Hey best way to make jello shots is to use the McDonalds ketchup cups! They slide out nice. Try it!

I work at a grocery store, and we use the cups for our demo's. I have sold them to people before...I am sure any grocery store that does demos, would most likely sell them to you for a lot cheaper than what you would pay for them at a party shop....ask the deli or bakery depts.

I have found that the best containers are the ketchup cups at McDonalds and Burger King They make great containers for jello shots and you just squeeze the jello in your mouth!!

Go online for Jello shot cups under "souffle cups". These are pleated paper cups that make getting to the Jello easier than the hard plastic cups. They come in varying sizes from .50 oz all the way up. Unfortunately, you will probably get stuck having to buy them in amounts of 5000 cups if you want to get a good price. Sounds like a lot, but they go pretty quick if you throw a lot of parties. I personally use the 1/2 (.50) oz size as they are not a big mouthful and go down nice. This way, I can offer a bigger variety of flavors to my guests, and even if they don't like a particular one, the smaller gulp goes over well.

The best type of cups to use is the white paper ones that are ketchup cups at fast food places. Then you can just squeeze them out from the bottom and they pop out! The WORST ones I made were cherry jello & GIN, not good! Best were peach schnapps and orange jello or lime vodka & lemon jello. Everclear, no way, too strong!!!

I have made jello shots for the last couple of years for our river trips. I always use Coconut Rum with watermelon or Pineapple Jello. It's easy and they taste really good.

 Debbie (Missouri) says:
My sister uses a flavored schnapps that compliments the jello flavor, which tastes a lot better than vodka or gin, which are way too strong. I won't eat any other jello shots.

I like to put some plain gelatin in them to make them a little firmer, man are they great!

I dont know about Everclear but one should always be mindful about guests maybe being on medication that could cause liquor to be amplified.

I, too, am the jello shot maker for our parties! I've tried all the different kinds of cups and found the PAPER ones are the best because you can squish them. Plastic ones are too hard to get all the good stuff out!! Party or restaurant supply stores always have them.

I want to make margarita jello shots and have the premix margarita drink w/ the tequila already in it. Is this possible?

I'm the jello shot maker for all parties my friends have. I've done soco (southern comfort) lime jello shots, gin & juice jello shots & mojito jello shots. You just have to be creative. If I want them strong, I use just enough water to dissolve the jello and the rest vodka, I've done everclear once but vodka is better.

I agree that if you plan on people consuming more than a couple, you should lessen the amount of alcohol in each shot, or even make a good portion without alcohol at all.

Combinations I enjoy:

- Black Cherry or Raspberry Jello w/ Vanilla Vodka or Vanilla Rum.
- Lime Jello w/ Tequila. Place a gummy worm in each shot.
- Anything w/ Watermelon Jello (it is very tasty & smooth).
