1 box yellow cake mix (not with pudding)
1/2 c. melted butter
1 egg, beaten

Take all but 1 cup (save) of cake mix, add melted butter and egg. press into a greased 9 x 13 inch pan. 2 eggs 3/4 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. ginger 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. vanilla 2/3 c. evaporated milk

Beat all until smooth - pour over cake mix crust.

To the 1 cup of cake mix add 1/4 cup sugar, 1/4 cup butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla; blend. Sprinkle on top of pumpkin. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. When cool top with Cool Whip.
