FILAGREE DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. Spry (shortening)
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs

Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Pour into a greased and floured pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.
