NANA'S JEWISH APPLE CAKE | |
3 c. flour 1 1/2 c. sugar 1 c. oil 3-4 eggs (3 lg. or 4 sm.) 3 tsp. baking powder 1 orange, use juice 3 apples, large, sliced thin (green cooking) TOPPING: 3 tsp. cinnamon 1/8 c. sugar Butter and flour tube pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix all of the ingredients together EXCEPT the apples. Mix thoroughly and pour into the tube pan. Mix cinnamon and 1/8 cup sugar with the sliced apples. Cover top of batter with the apple mixture. Bake 30 minutes, then test with toothpick. If toothpick is moist then continue baking for 6-8 minutes more or until the inserted toothpick comes out clean after inserting. |
